Privacy

General

World Health Information is committed to protecting your online privacy. We feel it is important for you to know how we handle the information we receive from you when you visit our web site, or when you contact us by e-mail.

How we collect and use personal information

World Health Information collects no personal information. Our database contains search results and links to Web sites operated by third parties. World Health Information has no control over the privacy policies and practices of such third-party sites. If you have any concerns WHI recommends that you review the terms of those sites for more information about privacy.

IP addresses

An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet. IP addresses allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with one another. World Health Information does not collect or log the IP addresses of any of it's visitors, thereby ensuring your anonymity. Only when required to do so by law enforcement authorities will World Health Information collect IP address information.

How we use "cookies"

As you probably know, "cookies" are small pieces of information that Web sites routinely store on your computer's hard drive when you visit the web site. World Health Information uses a single "cookie" to assist in setting your personal preferences when using our site.

Most Web browsers automatically accept "cookies" but allow you to modify security settings so that you can approve or reject "cookies" on a case-by-case basis. To use our site, you neither require to enable "cookies" or JavaScript. If you reject "cookies" from our site, some personal preferences in using the site may have to be re-selected each time you visit the site.

Registration and e-mails

We do not require registration and therefore do not collect or require your personal information. If you send us an e-mail we receive the e-mail, including your e-mail address, your e-mail message and any other information you may provide with the e-mail. We use your information to reply where needed. Once your e-mail has been processed and addressed we delete the e-mail, leaving no record. We do not share your e-mail with third parties unless required to do so by law enforcement authorities.

How we protect your personal information

Your e-mails are briefly saved on a stand-alone, off-line hard drive with restricted, secure access only. Once your e-mail has been processed and addressed we delete the e-mail, leaving no record.

What we provide to third parties

World Health Information does not provide any third-party access to your personal information unless the information has been aggregated and de-identified to make it anonymous. We may provide third parties with anonymous statistics about our visitors, traffic patterns and related site information. These data reflect site-usage patterns gathered during visits to our Web site each month. These data do not contain behavioral or identifying information about any individual visitor.

Our advertisers and their Ad Servers may use "cookies" when you view pages on our site. They use those "cookies" to collect nonpersonal information as a way of measuring the effectiveness of their advertising. We do not control these third parties' use of "cookies" or how they manage the nonpersonal information they gather through them. However, our advertisers have agreed that they will not collect any personally identifiable information from our site visitors while they are on www.worldhealthinformation.org. If you click on an advertisement on World Health Information and visit a site maintained by one of our advertisers, please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of that site. You should read the privacy policies of each site you visit to determine what information that site may be collecting about you.

Aggregate information

We use general traffic, site usage and length-of-stay information in reports to advertisers and firms with which we have a business relationship. This sort of information does not personally identify you.

Children's privacy

The Web Site is directed at individuals of all ages. World Health Information does not collect, use, or disclose personal information from any visitor, especially not from children under the age of 13.

E-mail communications

We are not set up to reply to every e-mail we receive. We do make every effort to read the e-mails our visitors send us to see where we may be able to make improvements.

The e-mail functionality on our site does not provide a completely secure and confidential means of communication. It's possible that your e-mail communication may be accessed or viewed by another Internet user while in transit to us. If you wish to keep your communication private, do not use our e-mail.

Changes to our Privacy policy

We will occasionally update this Privacy policy. You will see the word "updated" followed by the date next to the Privacy policy link near the bottom of all pages on the site. If the "updated" date has changed since you last visited, you're encouraged to review the policy to be informed of how this site is protecting your information.
